General Information

What is Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom?

Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom allows users to pay for a device over 1 to 24 monthly payments rather than paying for it upfront. The sales tax will be due at the point-of-sale and then monthly payments will appear on the invoice until the device is paid off.

Who is eligible for this program?

To be eligible for Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom, new customers must pass a credit check.
WOW accounts are not eligible.
 

What devices can be purchased with Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom?

All Nex-Tech Wireless smartphones, basic phones, and data units are eligible for purchase under the Freedom Program.
 

How much does Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom cost?

An installment payment will appear monthly on the Nex-Tech Wireless invoice.  There’s no finance fee to join the program. Sales Tax will be assessed at the point of sale. Depending on credit class, a down payment may be required. 
 

The device can be paid off at any point by providing payment for the remaining balance. 

 

Can I add Phone Guard to a device on Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom?

Yes. You can Phone Guard and are encouraged to do so to protect against loss or damage.  
 

Is there an activation fee for new customers who sign up?

No. The activation fee is waived for new customers selecting the Freedom Program.
 

I’m an existing Nex-Tech Wireless customer under a service agreement. Can I participate in the Freedom program?
Yes, current customers are eligible to purchase a device under Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom at any point.

 

A fee may be due dependent upon time in existing contract and device type.
 

0-11 Months of service contract completed

            $350 fee for smartphones*

            $200 fee for basic phones*

12-21 Months

            $175 fee for smartphones*

            $100 fee for basic phones*

*In addition, a prepaid shipping envelope will be provided as customer must provide the original device back to Nex-Tech Wireless.

22+ Months of service contract completed

            No fee required

            Device does not need to be turned in
 

What if I do not send in my old device after upgrading early to the Freedom Program?

If the expected device is not received within two weeks, a charge for the device will be assessed to the customer account:

            $200 for smartphone not returned

            $ 75 for basic phone not returned
 

Is Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom available for WOW accounts?
No. WOW accounts are currently not eligible.

Terms and Payments

Does Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom require a contract?

Yes, an installment agreement lasts 24 months, however, this is not a service contract. The agreement is established to confirm the entire balance of the device will be paid off.
 

Can I pay more than my scheduled monthly Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom installment?

No, unless paying off 100% of the device, which can be done at any time.
 

How can I view the remaining balance of my Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom device?

The remaining number of payments will appear on each monthly invoice. Payoff information can be viewed in Online Bill. Additionally, any Nex-Tech Wireless representative can provide a payoff balance.
 

Note: There is not an option to pay additional amounts beyond your monthly payment toward your outstanding Freedom installment balance, unless requesting to pay off 100% of the balance. The device can be paid off at any point by providing payment for the remaining balance. 
 

If my device is lost, stolen or damaged, will I still need to make my monthly payments?

Yes. You’ll continue to be responsible for your monthly payments under the Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom Agreement. We encourage you to sign up for Phone Guard to protect your device.
 

If I voluntarily suspend service to my phone, am I still required to make my monthly Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom payments?

Yes. If you voluntarily suspend service to your device, the installments will continue to be billed.

Upgrades and Returns

What is the upgrade option under Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom?

Each line of service can have only one Freedom Agreement at a time. After 100% of device has been paid off, a new device can be purchased under Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom or a subsidized device can be purchased with a service contract.

At any point in a service contract, a new device can be purchased under Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom. A fee will be due dependent upon time in existing contract and device type.

Is a device purchased with Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom covered under the 1yr Warranty and 30-day return policy?

Yes. Installment devices are covered by these policies.
 

I am eligible for Nex-Tech Wireless Freedom, but I’d rather upgrade my phone under a long-term service agreement rather than an installment agreement.  Can I sign up for a long-term service contract to get a new device if I continue to make my monthly Freedom payments?

No. After 100% of device has been paid off, a new subsidized device can be purchased with a service contract.
